Ethiopia Layo Teraga

Ethiopia Layo Teraga

Papaya bergamot plum

Established in 1976, the Layo Teraga cooperative opened market opportunities for smallholder members in Guji, a region where limited buyer access had long kept coffee prices below those of neighboring Gedeo and Sidama. In northern Uraga of the Guji zone, its 1,841 members grow coffee in garden plots surrounding their homes, set within semi-forested terrain at an impressive 2,342 MASL.
